Grant Farrell, President & CEO
Grant has 30 years of experience in medical and technology fields with a focus on management of multiple startups for the past 14 years.  The most recent of these startups was EaglePicher Medical Power specializing in the implanted medical device industry.  Grant also has experience in joint venture and acquisition activity in both domestic and international markets.  Earlier in his career, he held technical and management positions in Fortune 500 companies including Textron, Xerox and General Motors.  Grant holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto and holds several US and Canadian patents.

Eapen Chacko, Chief Financial Officer
Eapen has more than 30 years of finance experience including senior roles in equity markets research, corporate finance, and investor and public relations. He previously served as CFO for MedicalcCV and Possis Medical where he was also VP, Finance.  Eapen’s expertise includes startups and turnarounds in both publically-held and private companies where he has provided strategic business planning, IPO management, corporate financing, SEC reporting, and systems/process design.  He holds an A.B. in Economics from Columbia College in New York, and an M.A. in Operations Research & Economics from The Johns Hopkins University.

James Koeneman, PhD, Chief Science Officer
Jim co-founded KMI in 2001.  He has 35 years of medical engineering and medical device technology experience primarily at startup companies.  Prior to founding KMI, Jim was Vice President of Engineering for OrthoLogic Corp during their IPO.  He founded the Bioengineering Division for Lord Corporation, developing it from concept to a GMP manufacturing facility and culminating in a marketing agreement with Johnson & Johnson.  He was also a founder of the Harrington Arthritis Research Center in Phoenix, Arizona.  Jim has developed numerous innovative medical devices, holds over 16 patents and has authored more than 20 publications. He holds a BSME from the University of Minnesota, an MS in Bioengineering and Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics from Case Western Reserve University, and has been an Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering at Arizona State University since 1984.

Ed Koeneman, Chief Operating Officer
Ed co-founded KMI in 2001.  He has more than 20 years experience in medical and commercial products at small or startup stage companies with a focus on product development and commercialization.  Ed held positions with Adtron Corp., PCI Medical, Prescom Electronics, and the Harrington Arthritis Research Center.  Since 2005 he has served on the Board of the Arizona Bioindustry Association and chairs their Greater Phoenix Leadership Group.  Ed holds a BS and MT in Electronic Engineering from Arizona State University.
